Man...

This is just plain cool.

"Joe," you might say, "What's so cool about your site?" Well, you need to scroll down a bit. Go on, scroll down.

Down, down, down. See it yet?

No, not there. All the way at the bottom... Right at the end of the page. Yeah, that. Isn't it cool as hell?

Well, I think it is. So there.

In all seriousness, this is the coolest thing that has ever happened to me, ever. And it's not cool in the way you'd normally think a writer would take being picked up by a "Big Six" publisher like Penguin. It's not "Wow, I'm going to be published" because I'm already published. And it's not even "Wow, I'm going to be published by a big publishing company that can get me shelf space in Barnes & Noble" because I'm not really writing books for the money (trust me... There's not much in it for someone like me).

It's more like... I dunno. Validation.

An editor at a major publisher who sees thousands of titles a year and only chooses a few to go out on the shelves has looked at what I'm doing and said "You -- yes, YOU there, with the shaved head and unfortunate taste in clothing -- We like what you do. Come do it for us."

It's... Crazy. Good crazy. Incredible crazy.

The final draft with all the stories voted by readers is due Jan 15, 2008. The book will be out Q3 2008.

It's going to be an interesting year.
