7.24.2008:
My dad is 80
11:33 AMYesterday, my father turned 80 years old.
He's lived through three of the four industrial revolutions in this nation. That just blows my mind.
He adopted my sister and I when I was 14 and she was 13, even after he'd raised us for 4 years, knowing fully well what he was getting into.
So I bought him one of these for the celebration last night:

He's a scotch man, and recognized what he had the second I handed it to him.
Phenomenal drink. Well worth both the price and the occasion.

Another Wednesday comes and goes, no new stories really blows.
Holy crap...your Dad's older than my Dad (by 6 years). Is there a big age difference between your Mom and your Dad or did your mother have you at a later age? (Although my Mom is 70 she had me when she was 40...my brother and sister are 7 and 8 years older than me.)
Nice gift. I'm not into any of the "hard" liquors myself really, but buying quality always pays off...
Err...that should say Mom had me at 30 (I'm 40 now so that stuck in my brain and spilled out my fingers.)
